About the work
As with painting, drawing on paper has always been a personal escape and my drawings have also been exhibited along with the ceramics and paintings over the past 15 years.
Like ceramics, the drawings are quick sketches, mostly monochramatic, using printers ink on gloss, archival paper. Sometimes I add touches of gold leaf or small traces of red or yellow paint to highlight an area.
More recently, the subject matter has turned to compliment the forms and textures of the paintings and add a further dimension to the work when exhibited along side the clear marble whiteness of the porcelain and the smooth velvety blackness of the bucchero.
